Ahead of Release, Super 30 Founder Anand Kumar Reveals He Has Brain Tumour

        

Super 30, which stars Hrithik Roshan, Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Tripathi, Nandish Singh, Amit Sadh, and Aditya Shrivastava, is based on the life of Anand Kumar, a genius math teacher to prepare 30 under-privileged kids for IIT. The film is all set to release on Friday, July 12. However, a mere days before, Anand Kumar has made the shocking revelation that he has a brain tumour.

Kumar reportedly spoke to the media about his condition, revealing that he has an acoustic neuroma, which is a non-cancerous tumour, right on the main nerve that connects the inner ear to the brain.

The first symptoms, Kumar revealed, began exhibiting as early as 2014, when he was unable to hear form his right ear. After receiving treatment for this in Patna, he was told that he had lost 80-90% hearing ability in his right ear. Following this, he checked himself into Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi, where it was finally detected that a tumour had developed on the main nerve that connects the inner ear to the brain.

Kumar is currently on medication and being treated by a leading neurosurgeon at Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital.

Anand Kumar wanted the movie to release early so he could witness the story of his life's work unfold on the silver screen. According to him, nobody could have done better justice to his role than Hrithik Roshan, and Kumar made sure that the makers and Hrithik got every aspect of his life right in the course of making the film. In fact, he even revealed how Hrithik, the perfectionist that he is, recorded a 150-hour video about Kumar's daily routine, just to get the character bang on.

The early reviews of Super 30 are out and the movie is receiving lots of praise, which will hopefully make Anand Kumar happy. It remains to be seen how satisfied the audience is with the film, and whether it makes a bang on the BO as well.
